because the center is only open five days a week  they

for reasons of life they live alone and don’t know how

to find one another aren’t sure where to go are not comfortable

calling each other on the telephone to say

What About Going To A  Movies

What About Coffee and so

they wait and wait for Monday to be together again.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. If I want to know something I ask the elder hotline in my little town. They know where I’ve been before I’ve been there. They wish each other goodnight and call EMT’s on each other. They haven’t written any poetry yet. But it’s only a matter of time. A movie just may be too long— filled with scary steps and faraway rest rooms. Phones are a beautiful thing.
