How to Write a POEM (REDUX)

Many times during the years I have written a How to Write a Poem Poem. It’s one of those questions people ask. And even though I don’t know the answer, not really, here’s my answer this year. I wrote it by hand, and if I knew how to upload it (upload?) I’d put it here. I’ll ask someone to help me later. Meanwhile, here it is:

You need paper
and a pen a computer’s not
the same as your hand or
how your fingers hold onto
your pen. Then, write it down.
Write it down.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Ireland’s greatest comedian was Hal Roach, Many times after he told a joke he’d say “Write it Down”. And I’m sure he did because there was no better man at stealing jokes well maybe Milton Berle.
