WRITE IT ALL DOWN

A woman in class named Judy

two Judys in the Wednesday class

sister died suddenly in a small town in Texas

Judy went to take care of what’s left

cats and her sister’s life.  She sent an email

explaining about her sister and how hard it will be

and I remembered what my friend Jean told me

years ago when my father died suddenly had

a heart attack after a trip to the Dominican Republic

a good time  there then they flew back  Sunday on Monday

my father had a heart attack and died. Write it all down

my friend Jean said to me and I took my notebook with me

and pens and here I am, still trying.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Oh Esther, I did not know that sad story about your father. And I have been grieving for Ralph Nader all morning after seeing him on Democracy Now! talking about the death of his niece on the Boeing plan that crashed in Ethiopia.
