WILSON ZHANG, OR WHAT HOPE LOOKS LIKE

We all look for a hope. A few days ago The New York Times told the stories of the ten New York high school seniors who will win $15,000 and a laptop. Every single one of these students went through sadness and terror. Next year they’ll each go to a very good college, and have a chance to dramatically change their lives. Besides the $15,000 they got separate scholarships from college. Winners are Jada Fitzpatrick, Wilson Zhang, Eileen Cruz, Shania Sinclair, Jia Ying Mei Adenique Lisse, Ajifanta Marenah, Leonel Martinez, Sunpreet Singh and Daniel Collins Jr.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
