Where We Sit

I’ve always liked seeing what’s inside other people’s houses.

Color of  dishes where we sit

what’s on the table and what isn’t some people

make a home you walk into

a place you want to be  some cultures better than others

with people the first time I went to the Middle East

Egypt in particular I wanted to stay  forever

because of the way everyone said hello

and then Come and Eat With Me and then

So Tell Me, You Tell Me.  Where no one is a stranger

what would have happened if I stayed in Egypt  lived

in Cairo or Alexandria my dishes would be blue

I would serve ful to you when you came to visit

and maybe I would want to describe it all in a  poem.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
