What We See

part of an ongoing series

So here we are
new city
Los Angeles
car city
wherever you go
you’re in a car
friends take us
to See Things
what do we show
one another when we
want to define
our place.
Famous buildings
public sculptures
one had graffitied
pubic hairs
healthy and
unhealthy restaurants
poor and rich
trees along rich streets
at CVS I saw
LA religious
Iranian woman
to Mexican cashier.
Long slow process.
We were next
in line.
When she left
Mexican cashier
The Los Angeles
god asks us
for patience
and forgiveness.
We need that here.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
