Watch Bands (NaMoPo April 27)

I like my watch didn’t like

the band. Three different watch  places

all recommended said not in stock.

One serious man he explained

why my new band would require

considerable effort on his part and besides

he would have to order etc. He pointed

to catalogues on his shelf. Watch bands are

never important but  yesterday on Mott Street

Chinese man with a watch booth

thousands of bands  found the right brown leather

in minutes  he liked his band

and my watch come back he said. Come back.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Of course watch bands are important!!! I got my current one while shopping in Mexico City with my sister. She lives there. It’s dark gray leather made in Italy. When I look at it, it reminds me of how lovely it was spending the afternoon with her and how really fine Italians are at design….their lineage. I love my watch band.
