About Time, or Cereal Cafe

The gist: This Monday, mega-brand Kellogg’s celebrated American independence with the opening of their first ever permanent cafe — a Manhattan restaurant dedicated to cereal. With dine in and takeout available, the menu ranges from $6-8 and features a wide bevy of milk- and ice cream-based dishes. Journee’s Anthony Rudolf and Sandra di Capua teamed up with cereal impresario in her own right, Christina Tosi (Milk Bar) to collaborate on the all-day breakfast menu. Options include the Pistachio Lemon, featuring Frosted Flakes, lemon zest and thyme and sundaes like the Life in Color: Fruit Loops, lime zest, marshmallow, passion fruit jam

Well, it took until
July 2016
for someone to come up
with the idea
that people
want ARTISAN CEREALS
not just granola
muesli with a few
almonds here and there
but sea salt pistachio.
Reminds me of the time
a friend got a job
naming nail polishes
for Revlon. They
wanted to move away
from RED. I suggested
both Zebra
and Baboon
but both
were a No.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I worry about people who can’t recognize baboon and zebra as perfect names for lipstick.

    I enjoy your perfect poems.
