The Truth Is

I’ve had
a hard time
with forgiveness.
Revenge is
easier. Or
secret resentment.
Last year, I read
four forgiveness books
talked to some serious
Christians and Jews
a Buddhist Muslim Hindu Sikh
I don’t intuitively
turn the other cheek
don’t know how
and I’m talking about
pure pettiness
not wars or Big Wrongs
I’d like to learn
thought one way might be
to say the word
three times a day
forgive
forgive
forgive

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

    1. So many people wrote me today about all the things we can’t forgive. I don’t believe that. If we can’t forgive, we can’t get past history. It’s funny the lists that people sent. xxx
