The Leonard Cohen Show at the Jewish Museum

Old friend Miriam new friend Carol

she and I met on the 79th Street crosstown bus

Carol and Miriam both artists they were friends so we decided

we’d all meet at the Jewish Museum to see the Leonard Cohen show

which isn’t a show exactly though sort of

more people yesterday  free for Shavous

Shavous and Leonard Cohen  appropriate together

Carol has some eye problems so can’t go into dark rooms

many of the rooms are dark so we talked while Leonard Cohen

sang all those beautiful songs and then the three of us

went to lunch, good Mexican place nearby, discussed

our mothers , our work, a little about ourselves

and we decided, Leonard Cohen or not,

we’d meet again.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I like the mix of Leonard Cohen snd Esther Cohen.
    Proof you’re related.
I like the eye problem for the real life metaphor.
I like the irony of breaking rules of yontif observance to go to jewish museum to see Leonard Cohen — I believe years ago the Jewish museum was closed on jewish holidays.
