I’ve lived in this building

more than half my life.

People in the elevator

a Human Source

famous musician he died

chained to his bed  leather cuffs

no one ever found out

what actually happened  young

beautiful prostitute from

the city of Malaga she married

a rich man in a grey suit moved

to Central Park West years ago

I saw her with baby and nanny one day

lipstick now muted we kissed hello

old elevator friends the landlord a man

with wives and wives

I had a building interview with the landlord’s mother

she was wearing a white leather miniskirt

go go boots This is a Respectable Building she said.

How respectable are you?  I told her I didn’t know

and she said That’s Not a Good Answer.  If anyone

asks you that question again you should reply

I Am Respectable and leave it at that.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
