Taking a Break from Talking to Strangers

I have always always spoken to strangers.

A week ago a Jehovah’s Witness single mother

with two daughters from a farm in Australia

we all went for tea because she wanted her daughters

to meet a real New Yorker her daughters asked me questions (Would I ever

live on a farm in Australia was one) but the last few weeks

after three separate difficult encounters with people I don’t know about

the movie Parasite, Michael Bloomberg (different subjects)

I have decided to take a hiatus I hope brief

because I like meeting strangers and hearing

what they have to say. Most of the time.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
