Showing Peter’s Movie in Albany Yesterday

Peter had a screening  in Albany yesterday and we watched

his film in a room of people at the Landmark Spectrum

on Delaware Avenue  heard strangers laugh and ask him

questions afterwards ask him how and why and then

we walked to a new bar next door though it was the middle of the day

we a glass of wine with four strangers who’d come to the movie one of them

celebrating her 75th birthday she used to own seven floor covering stores

said she knew Peter’s father who owned a rug store years ago it didn’t matter

whether or not she knew him what mattered was there we were, showing Peter’s movie

to a big room full of strangers, and then, celebrating with a good glass of wine.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
