SEVILLA (Don’t Miss This)

62 Charles Street New York City

(((someone sent me a message critique a week ago:  the order of your poems is non-linear.  You just throw the Don’t Miss This in with everything else.  She’s right. I do.))))

A perfect restaurant

sopa de ajo  paella flan

nothing artisanal

right on  Charles Street  forever

murals of well buxommed women

once  a painter who had a Big Plan

to paint the top of the Empire State Building

bright red he drew me a picture of how

ladders would work going up

last night there we were again six of us  old

wooden booth sangria and sangria

paella in metal pots

Spain the way it was in Greenwich Village years ago

still right where it belongs

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I so enjoy your daily poems. Still being a New Yorker despite the 3000 mile distance, I can remember how it feels to be ther thru your evocative imagery.
So glad we got connected thru artist resolve.
