Real Meditations: Forget Calm

Breathe In. You don’t ever have to  Let Go.

Hold on as long

as you like. Breathe Out.

Maybe you just did.  Breathe In.  If you didn’t, no matter.

No Matter

is better than Calm Down, or even Calm. Be Calm is annoying.

Breathe Out.  It’s raining and raining.  Breathe In.  Rain always stops.

Breathe Out.  Tonight is a Very Good Concert at the Mike Quill Hall.

Breathe In.  Rain doesn’t matter for a concert.  Breathe Out.

Rain is not calming.  Breathe In.  I had an app called CALM on my phone. A

well intentioned friend told me to get it so I did.

Breathe Out. I took it off.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I tried to Google Mike Quill Hall to see what the very good concert was, but no results. I still remember when you introduced me to the wonderful Little Jimmy Scott, who I believe used to hang out in the upstate summer place.
