Raining and Edite and I still went to Long Island City

Edite came to town her bus  late

marathon  and rain and still we went

to Long Island City for Denise’s refugee paintings

Miriam Schaer’s haunting dolls

still we went to Long Island City after the art we had

a good dinner a very good dinner Peruvian chicken Peruvian ribs

white sangria with floating fruit  we told

stories about the last 35 years so many stories

how  friends  know one another

and how life is often circling, and then good food.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
