Apropos of County Route 20 as a new spoon river anthology, I am adding a few more poems and the rare acceptance letter. From a very good poet who added an X to his name this summer. I’m thinking Esther X. Cohen. It has a ring. And while this letter isn’t as good as the many Nigerian offers, it has a certain ring. Especially: Good work.
re: Submitted Poetry
County Route 20

Hello Esther,

Thank you for submitting your poetry to Chronogram. I have decided to publish “County Route 20” in our July, 2017 issue. Good work.

Chronogram is unable to compensate you for your work. I’m sorry. I have attached a pdf copy of the two poetry pages in this coming month’s Chronogram so that you may see what they look like. I hope you are pleased. In addition, either now or in the near future you will be able to view this entire current issue of Chronogram at: http://issuu.com/chronogram/docs.

Also, please note that due to the volume of submissions that I receive, I ask that people wait 2 months between submissions (for a maximum of 4 submissions per year), and that you limit your submission to three poems or approximately three typed pages per submission (whichever comes first).

I do hope you will take the opportunity to visit our website at www.chronogram.com.

Sincerely,

Phillip X Levine

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
