People, or Something Else

Even when they are difficult

Bea she calls me every single day

to see if I can come to her 100th birthday party

( I won’t be in town but telling her I am not

not sufficient for Bea so she checks in each morning

in case my plans have changed because she’d like me

to be there even though she doesn’t like me much. I don’t

always listen enough says Bea) even when they are

difficult many people maybe most are interesting

my neighbor a prostitute wants a Real Wedding

super’s son on wife number 3 oh well says the super

who’s still on  1 and she can bellow even when they seem

entirely normal straight hair hiking shoes even when they

look like that you know there’s something else.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Sounds like that serial novel wants to be continued somehow . . . Perhaps like your Brooklyn book? like Spoon River Anthology but 21st-century, urban?
