Passover The Last Day (the holiday ends tonight)

Why are Jewish holidays so many

days asked Agnes Wong,  garment worker heroine.

She’s writing her story in my  class.

Her own liberation story.  From there

to here. Never one straight line.

Hard work, a happy ending.   Union pension now.

Children  grandchildren. One of the questions

for Agnes and the other women in the class: what matters

every day?  A holiday is the same as now she said.

Maybe that’s the reason why

there are so many Passover days.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
