Our Last Day Here for Now and the Beginning Too

beginning of a year, big numbers:

5779 incomprehensible unscientific

someone decided where beginnings are

what can happen when we start with

apples and honey asking forgiveness ourselves

for what we did and didn’t do:  I didn’t do

half of what I’d intended, judged instead

of understood, forgot my intention, made

so many years ago my plan just to love but

what’s good about another  year

our chance to love again.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
