On the Ganges in Varanasi

what holy looks like

people come to the ganga to purify

to see each other last night

there are cows and monkeys on these streets

thousands and thousands of people

a cow walked into an old woman

probably my age she shared more of her life

on her face last night on our way to eat we saw

a cow walk right into an old woman with her daughter

shopping everyone is shopping  at nine o’clock at night

I’d like to believe they were going to the perfume store

where I will go today they were a few blocks from the holiest

river in the world the Ganga river cremations  blessings hundreds

of kites in the air so much

singing singing singing a cow walked right into an old woman

she was off balance and then we could all hear her laugh

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
