Old Pictures

Peter had  slides in crayola orange boxes.

He’d wanted them scanned for years.

This summer he sent them to Scan Cafe,

to another unnamed country the scanners are in frequent

contact with him yesterday they sent him rough scans and

we looked at ourselves when we were thin when we were

young thirty years is a long time even though it isn’t

there we all were at our wedding

his father laughing with  my mother  people we hadn’t

seen in years my old boss Robert Hoyt dancing with Jean Boudin

there we all were Wendy Kaminer in a fluffy

sweater flirting with a British sound editor my mother

laughing with her sister Ruthie we were there forever in those

funny pictures taken by my friend Doug Magee who thought

Pamela Nelson was good looking so she plays a big part

in our wedding photos Pamela Nelson in her red dress

smiling forever at Doug Magee.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
