Nocturne the Podcast and Lucid Dreaming

Last night late at night

I listened to a new podcast called Nocturne.

Vanessa Lowe has one of those good voices

and the show I heard funny they’re called episodes not shows

was about Lucid Dreaming and Beverly D’Urso,

a lucid dreaming celebrity.  Beverly tells you how.

A lucid dream is a dream where you know you’re

dreaming.  You learn to control the dream a little.

So there I was, in my bed, on 77th Street

lucid about Greece and the island of Patmos

and the beautiful whitewashed one room stucco house

and in my dream I could smell lemons and the sea

and I was sleeping on the funny striped bed

in  one room where all of us were sleeping

listening to a podcast called Nocturne

wondering even though I was actually in Greece (!)

when I’d be back in New York.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Michael and I once attended a Lucid Dreaming Workshop in Hawaii, led by Stephen LaBerge, a lucid dreaming “expert”. We wanted to lucid dream but neither of us were able to do it, although we got close. It was a fun week though, listening to others in our workshop talk about their previous night’s dreams.
