No Can Be Yes

For many years my boss and my mentor and my teacher of this and that was Moe Foner, a larger than life union leader who said things I wrote down. One of the things he said was There is No No. Everyone who writes or paints or Does Anything knows there are many No’s. Sometimes they are worth repeating. The repetition turns them into something else. (And, if you chose to SAY SOMETHING about this, ANYTHING AT ALL, please say it on the On Being Blog, where Matthew and I are this week. As you know.)

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
