Natasha and Pierre

Our glamorous

neighbor she works

on Broadway shows she

can sing dance write a play

has a Dr. Zhivago coat lamb trim

invited us to see Natasha and Pierre

where she is working now

with Miss Ndaba oh no

said Miss Ndaba when I told her

it was War and Peace

only 70 pages from the book

students at my school

don’t like War and Peace

she said  I did not argue

last night in a theater

full of lights

hundreds of people working

to make the magic of theater

working together seamlessly

so that we could all sit, mouths open,

happy for magic

and War and Peace and our chance

to sit there watching

watching.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
