My Row, or American Airlines Flight ll75 to Dallas

Whenever I travel
i try picking a lucky row.
New York to Dallas
24 ABC. Kim Kardashian
only sits in front. She wears
new Manolos for each flight.
My Fly Londons
seem more appropriate.
Seat A is a shy
18 year old named Bob.
Bob’s going to Fort Sill.
“I’m afraid of strangers, Ma’am,”
said Bob. Then handsome young
Thomas sat between us. He said
his mother’s from Vietnam
she never told him who
his father is she never
wants to say and Thomas’s best
female friend she’s from Korea
is in exactly the same position.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I suppose you went to Dallas to see the Football Championship Game last evening. Hope you enjoyed it. I always knew you were a closet football fan.

  2. Coming from the sticks in Tel Aviv, I had to look up what a Fly London was.

I also didn’t know what a Kim Kardasian was until our young intern Apo Sahagian born in the Armenian Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem explained the concept to me.

As for flying to Texas, my young 24 year old cousin who I had dinner with last night says she may be going there soon because as a Democrat campaigner, the Lone Star State is on its way to becoming a “battleground state”, with the Republicans losing their grip because of the increase in the non-white population.
