My Life in 100 Objects, or Albert’s Chairs (COVID)

Poet and activist Margaret Randall wrote a  wonderful new book:  My Life in 100 Objects (New Village Press.)

I love objects, impractical especially, objects

funny as people and every single Sunday when I can

I go to one flea market or another doesn’t matter where

like my friend Albert who lives in a small rent controlled

apartment. He’s lived there forever.  Last week Albert said

I love chairs and bought 32 of them over the years and so

I have 32 chairs in this apartment.  I only sit on one he said.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
