My Friend Judy

Many people wrote to me saying Anton Scalia Could Never Be My Friend. Not that he was mine. But he was a friend of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I can imagine her meeting me for dinner. So what does that mean? Maybe nothing.

In the eighties
I had a friend,
I’ll call her JUDY
no one else
liked her
What Do You Think
of Your Friend JUDY?
Did they expect this answer:
I Can’t Stand Her?
As for me, and as for
JUDY our relationship
if you could call it that
was me listening
to JUDY telling her
Life Stories and if she
were still talking
to me today (she’s not)
I would still
be listening.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
