Milton Glaser Died on His Birthday at 91

Milton Glaser died yesterday on his 91st birthday.

Ideas said Milton when I called him

on his 90th birthday ideas don’t go away because you are old.

Moe loved Milton and Milton loved Moe and when I called

Milton to see if he would design the cover for Moe’s Bread and Roses

book Moe said Hock Him if he says No.  Milton’s used to hocking.

And when I asked if he would make Moe’s cover and told him I would hock him

if he said No he said Save Your Hocking.  You’ll need it.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Esther, great memories of an important artist who stayed forever young. I’m one of the 6 million who had that Dylan poster.
