You can meditate while you’re lying down
right in your bed. I have always liked my bed.
Where I read and where I write. My bed
is also my desk. So the sleep advice that your bed
should only be for sleeping is not relevant here for us.

If you like to listen to ocean sounds there are about 20
Ocean Apps. None of them sound exactly like water because
they’re just an app and imagining water inside your phone
is not so easy. And I am always nervous about getting my phone wet.
Some yoga teachers say the out breath should always be
longer than the in breath. That might make you sleep. You
could also try thinking about the plot of Moby Dick. Sometimes
I imagine what it would be like to play golf which seems to me the most boring
possible game and sometimes I just breathe and breathe and repeat
the words If I Don’t Sleep So What.
