May It Be So (Covid Poem)

After this because this will not last forever

we will see more clearly

know  we need to care

for each other bring food to people

who need it make sure no one is hungry

after this we will  elect better leaders

provide jobs in a New Deal

work for a fairer society

after this we will keep our doors open and our arms wide

we will take off our masks

we will call all the people we love to say hello

after this we will still cook

maybe not all the time

continue to imagine how we can

each of us make this world a little better

after this.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
