Lory Will Play Oboe (COVID)

Lory will play oboe today

in front of a tall black locust tree and we

maybe fifteen of us happy to hear  oboe

and Lory to hear music instead of news

to hear oboe on another gorgeous bright September day

we will listen and drink rose and  try to remember

before we tell ourselves all that happened this year

unlike any other that life is also

oboe music and people grateful to listen.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I so identify with your poems. I’ve been in AZ now for 30 years, but I remember NYC and the Catskills fondly! And of course, it doesn’t matter where we live when it comes to politics these days, we are all affected and try to find ways to still see the beauty in the world.

Thank you for the Yom Kippur card. Shana Tova!
