Life and Death and Words

“Writing is one of the most ancient forms of prayer. To write is to believe communication is possible that other people are good, that you can awaken their generosity and their desire to do better.” Fatima Mernissi

Words are
what remains.
We met Fatima
through Edite.
You know how
some people
they just are
large and strong
you can never
forget them
she invited
us to stay
at her beach house
in Rabat. Right
on the water where she
told us where
to go who
to see our Morocco
was Fatima’s
as wonderful
and large
unforgettable
as she always was
when she died
few days ago
Edite told me
she died I knew
Fatima one
of those people
who will
never
ever die.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
