Last Night

Dear Readers of These Poems,

Last night I looked at your

names  where I see you

last night I imagined all of us meeting

for poems last night after the baby

went home Wow There’s a Plane she says

after we watched an

Agatha Christie series all 3 parts

starring  Bill Nighy last night when

we didn’t discuss floods and the world

stayed home to sit on the brown couch

eat scallops from the farmers market

and I thought about writing a novel in letters

about what I most want to say to you  I wondered

how you could say what you wanted to me.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Dear Esther,
As an avid reader of your poetry,
I think you have in today’s poem, a splendid idea!

    Let’s make it come true.

    With love and appreciation,

    Barbara

  2. Last night, I was talking about the Agatha Christie movie where she is missing, and everyone is curious regarding her whereabouts, and it ends up she has checked into a restorative spa. Our lives were quite busy at that time , so that concept lingered with me.

We also ate delicious scallops sauteed in orange zest .
