Khanyi’s Graduating from High School Tomorrow

All of us father arrived from South Africa

yesterday we celebrated last night Percy and Elthea

Noah and Chesray and Ahava  two friends from Zambia

we celebrated in advance of Khanyi’s celebration

unusual Ms. Ndaba  she can do anything she likes

in this amazing life and she has and she will and tomorrow

in a funny old church in Williamstown Massachusetts we’ve been there before

simple and beautiful and old nothing Jewish about it  African either

still we will all belong there watching Khanyi and then

clapping as much as we can.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
