Just Write it Down (a conclusion for a title)

Many days people call with an idea

of what they want to write. More

in summer when ideas are warm. And there’s more time for them.

Vacations, tomatoes, corn all help.

Although of course ideas exist

when it rains. Like today.

I asked Martha at the Post Office

if she thought rain made her less idea prone

and she said she likes rain because then she can think.

And turn on her television set (she said set) which she feels guilty about

if the sun is shining. So rain is good for Martha’s ideas.

As for me, and as for you, we all need a little space

that’s all. And maybe a notebook. That way,

whenever you feel idea prone, all you have to do

is just write it down. Write it down.

Let me tell you why I’m here, and why I hope you’ll join me.
I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I’m here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
