It’s already 10:30 and I haven’t written a poem (COVID)

For no good reason I haven’t yet written a poem.

Writing teacher once said the most important thing you can give your readers

not thing never use thing the most important part of writing is reason:

What is the reason  the character killed his victim?

What is the reason  the protagonist left her home?

What is the reason I haven’t yet written this poem?

Maybe because last night after we picked up Khanyi from the Hudson train

station and went  for a delicious in season soft shell crab dinner

and our waitress told us about her two sons

and I didn’t write it down.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
