Hot and Safe (COVID)

Hard to understand

constant juxtaposition niece

on Rachel people who won’t wear masks

where we buy milk  beauty of these days

incredible nights White Houses

and white houses and Black Lives Matter

down the main street in Hudson New York

and John Lewis and RGB and happy hour every single day

slate table in front of a black locust tree and friends

call to say hello and we say more

than hello because they are home  trying too

to understand what has happened what will happen

next and we all of us eat corn that tastes like corn.

Esther Cohen
Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
