Have You Ever Written a Book Asked a Stranger Named Dovid (COVID)

An older man even older than I am named David

call me Dovid he said not David on a bench yesterday when I told

him I was a writer and he said he was a long retired surgeon.  Don’t

ask me to operate he said and we both laughed.  Have you ever

written a book he said.  I’ve finished one now I said and of course

he asked What It’s About.  People, I said.  And You.  Well said

Dovid if I give you my address will you send me a copy?  Can’t

I just give you one next time I see you? I replied.  Even though I had

never seen Dovid before.  I suppose that would be OK said Dovid.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
