this poem is part of a series I have done with the incredible photographer Matthew Septimus. We hope to exhibit the entire series this year.

French psychiatrist
Jacques Lacan, big theories
he says we qualify
all our pleasures.
Yes, But.
We aren’t naturally
grateful enough.
This year I’d like
to be less
Yes But
To just say yes.
To remember
what I know
is true. If we
are lucky,
we wake up
and morning
is sky
all beginning
once again
a day when we
hold on
to nothing
except now
and yes
and love

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
