Going to see the movie NORMAN

Harry sent an email saying  the movie Norman was one of the worst

movies ever.  But maybe, he said, you’ll like it.

Onatu intelligent Ethiopian movie critic and theater manager

told us before the film that Norman had something

the audience liked. Onatu did too. Richard Gere

reminds me of my brother and so I am predisposed

to like him.  And the movie  has Jews, Israelis,

even shoes  (although they play a minor role,

they are Lanvin shoes.  You don’t see too many shoes

in movies except on feet). We went with friends

who were not Jews or Israelis

and even though it was one of those wildly imperfect

why did that happen films, we liked it well enough too.

Let me tell you why I’m here, and why I hope you’ll join me.
I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I’m here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
