FUNNY, OR MINDFULNESS

I AM TRYING
TO MEDITATE EVERY DAY
I’M SURE IT’S GOOD
EVEN THOUGH I LIKE
FUNNY MORE THAN
MINDFUL AS AN IDEA
BUT THERE AREN’T ANY
YOUTUBE PRACTICES
WHERE PEOPLE ARE FUNNY
TEN MINUTES EACH DAY
I CAN’T SIGN UP
FOR FUNNY
WHERE WE CAN SLOW
DOWN TO HEAR A JOKE
OR TWO THOUGH MAYBE
THAT’S AN IDEA.
TODAY I’LL TEST IT
AND LET YOU KNOW.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. I witnessed “laughter meditation” as practiced by young monks on the ghaats (steps) along the river “Ganges” in Varanasi , India. With arms raised skywards, about 100 younsters laughed & laughed while people around them a washed their bodies and clothes in the river and while cremation ceremonies happened along with a few stray goats and sacred cows strolling by.-xxx

  2. I found that ONE I was struggling with…EDDIE IZZARD! Maybe he could oblige by allowing 10-min clips/day to be posted. I know you would sign up for him.

  3. Funny is good! Mindful meditation too. I do a guided meditation every morning and before I “head out”, though it’s become harder because of an increased bout of tinnitus, thanks to an overly amplified performance of “Panic Ensemble”. Though it didn’t affect me at the Queen concert on Monday in the park.
