Fran’s Barns (County Route 20)

ponytailed Fran he’s not young

married to a woman named Jan

some people call her Fran him Jan

once she made them wear name tags to a potluck

Fran spent his life collecting

beautiful  barns  takes them apart

puts them under blue tarps on a big hill right where they live

231 barns he has all post and beam some English some Dutch

some without clear explanation

people buy barns from Fran he builds them again

piece by piece by piece

a careful man what he loves

taking them apart then having the chance

to put them together. When Fran

shows you one of his graceful piles

he always says, ” Imagine what a barn this was.”

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
