Finally Here (County Route 20)

After packing I am not a good packer don’t have

3 pairs of black shoes I have orange and red sandals

and gold painted heels and though I don’t need them

for summer I might because of how  it is here

and because every night I’ve always dressed for dinner

on this porch one of the most yes beautiful not a big enough word

deep and yellow and full of sky and because of where and how it is

and how much I want to be part of all this is and so

I dress for these days and sit where I can see as much

as I can see and John the painter comes over to fix the ceiling

and to describe what is happening with his three daughters

and I am happy, and write down as much as I can.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. Have a perfectly peaceful summer Upstate, stress free sitting on your porch overlooking beautiful summer skies and hopefully listening to some beautiful bird songs, while you write, and we reap, meaningful poems.
