Even in COVID There is Always Music (COVID)

Real jazz band on 74th and Columbus

last night on  tv we watched

George Cables and Jeremy Pelt live from Lincoln Center

they played into our living room and we knew

that life was more than  debates and fear

that life is  accompanied by music.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.

  1. “Joy to the world– All you boys and girls.
Joy to the fishes and the deep blue sea
Singing joy to you and me.” Remember
“Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog?” That’s what
popped into my head during the Biden
Townhall last night. A real President!

  2. Since you are in NY and you love music, I’m sending you this link to the Socially Distant Orchestra, begun modestly and expanded to international participation (and a brief nod from Sixty Minutes a couple of months ago). Yes, I’m proud that it’s my son’s brainchild, but truly, it’s terrific—filled with great music, wonderful musicians, and the sense of humor the creator carries with him in the hardest of times:
