Dear Reader, Sometimes, of Poems

Ellen explained

why  people don’t like poems.

They make people feel stupid,

she said.  They might not know

what a poem is about.

Years ago Ann described a man

who did not listen to music.

Was this a disqualifier she asked.  Imagine

life without music.  Some people

feel that same way about poems

They collect words and make them into poems.

Still they know not liking poems, although it’s better

if you like them, not liking poems is not

a disqualifier for anything much.

Just poems.

Let me tell you why I’m here, and why I hope you’ll join me.
I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I’m here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
