Cousin Tillie

my grandfather’s cousin lived in Waterbury Connecticut

we saw her on occasion always

an in car explanation what an intellectual Cousin Tillie

she wore navy blue dresses with

a definite waist  a big woman with small tight hair  looked

different from most people married to a man named Max he owned

a hardware store he’d  shake your hand and  discuss Good Ladders.

Two daughters Estelle and Roz one like Max and one like Tillie

a few years ago in a flea market in New York City there were

Tillie and Max’s two daughters old ladies now one was actually

wearing a navy dress and the other shook my hand.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
