Conversations (COVID)

The family directly across the street

doesn’t talk to us.  Or anyone else much either.

They only say hello.  This happened before

the last election actually happened when they

moved in from Texas they were an internet match

that much they said as well as some minimal

conversation about  temperatures but yesterday

when I attempted once again it’s hard for me to give up

the idea that there has to be a Good Subject has to be

a way to talk yesterday when I said to the man of the house

that he’d done a nice job painting he painted his

house himself he said I don’t think so and that was that.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
