Clark Gable and my mother

Marianna described

a play she wrote with friends called

Mama Dramas stories about our mothers.

My mother was visiting

my Uncle Alex’s nightclub somewhere in Montana

(did he really have a nightclub?) a handsome

man a friend of my Uncle’s asked my mother

out for a steak dinner.  Turned

out the man was Clark Gable.

So my mother went on a steak date with Clark Gable.

What was he like I asked about a thousand times.

All his teeth were capped was all she  said.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
