Brunch in Throg’s Neck (COVID)

Gary picked me up in his blue Toyota

I think it was a Toyota

we drove to Throg’s Neck to photograph

Roslyn Smith  in prison 39 years   she’s making the world

better in so many ways for other women now in prison and out

Ros wore bright red heels chiffon blouse

her friend Mel joined us and  we four

went to lunch to the Ice House on the water

dozen clams eight dollars special seven days a week

there we were living life at its best four people

eating together one  Sunday in the Bronx

the rest didn’t matter for a while.

Let me tell you why I'm here, and why I hope you'll join me. I am here to poem, to play with words, to tell stories when I can, and to ask you for yours. Words are what I love, how I see, and what I say. Words are how I know my life, and how I find my friends. I'm here to ask you to join me. Right here. To send me your stories, and your poems. And to read mine when you can.
